Sometimes creativity has it's own time schedule. This certainly is the fact around this post. The event spoken of occurred at Riviere de Loup last October. I began this Linked Haiku on the way to the East Coat to visit friends and family. It was an experience burned into my memory bank so strongly because of its magical effect on me. It took me until about 2 weeks ago to create the art work and finish the Haiku. So here it is to share with you, completed. Or so it seems at the moment.
East Coat Magic
October 2, 2023
Touring the East Coast
in the time of migration.
Looking for Snow Geese.
Too soon darkness falls,
ocean verges, very bare.
No geese to be seen.
We leave unfulfilled,
find our home away from home.
Riviere de Loup.
Morning brings Magic.
A roadside spectacular!
A mystical gift.
Thousands and thousands,
gathered over the ocean.
Floating and soaring.
The air fills with sound,
a feathered cacophony.
Bedlam in the skies.
We gaze enraptured,
transfixed by the Earth's display.
All time disappears.
Holding the moment
we return to mundane things.
Breakfast awaits!
